The Closer I get, the Further I am.

What is identity? What encompasses a person’s identity? Is it their past? Is it the people they grew up with? In this project, I seek to explore what my identity means to me, and what has shaped me to be the person I am today. Through archival imagery, I pin-point key moments, memories, and people from my life that have formed my very self. From exploring the world around me, I found myself fascinated with the expansive world around me. I realized how small I was in this big world, and begin to wonder, do I need to know who I am? Does it really matter? Maybe the closer I get to figuring out who I am, the further I really am.
